Chigwell Riding Trust was the first ever riding centre for people with special needs and has been established in Chigwell for over fifty years. Riding instruction is given to people of all ages and abilities. The riding centre has approximately 160 riders each week.
As one of the leading specialised riding centres in the country Chigwell Riding Trust not only benefits people with special needs but also the entire community, giving opportunities for volunteering, school participation and practical experience for children and adults working with people and animals.

This event was even more special than usual because the RDA were celebrating their 50th anniversary and it was wonderful to be part of that. HRH The Princess Royal was present as was BBC Countryfile. All five of our riders were placed. In addition to the photos below, on the Friday showjumping Elliot came 3rd, Frankie 4th and Samuel 5th. In the Saturday dressage Elliot came 4th and Frankie 6th.

The Riding for the Disabled Association (RDA) is celebrating their 50th Anniversary this year. I hope sharing my personal story of having cerebral palsy and horse riding since the age of 4 will raise awareness and inspire more people to get involved and volunteer with the RDA. Join me to listen to insights from Ed Bracher, RDA Chief Executive and experiences of Matthew Cobble, Volunteer and Group Support Manager.
This podcast is part of my Final Major Project for Level 2 UAL Creative Media Production and Technology which I have dedicated to the RDA in support of their 50th Anniversary.
The wonderful opportunities that Chigwell Riding Trust can offer have only been made possible by the generosity of people such as you. Please consider a donation to enable the Trust to continue to be the wonderful place that it is. Thank you.
